Hi its Gabriel and today I am going to learn you some new concept words about industrial engineering technology. I have been studying in this program for the last 3 year and I want to share my passion. I hope that this glossary will give you a global idea of what industrial engineering technology is.
- analysis
- Detailed examination of the elements or structure of something.
- Automating
- To run or operate (something, such as a factory or system) by using machines, computers, etc., instead of people to do the work.
- Department
- A division of a large organization such as a government, university, business, or shop, dealing with a specific subject, commodity, or area of activity.
- Development
- The process of developing or being developed.
- ergonomic
- Relating to or designed for efficiency and comfort in the working environment.
- Industry
- Group of manufacturers or businesses that produce a particular kind of goods or services. ... Industry comes from the Latin industria, which means "diligence, hard work," and the word is still used with that meaning.
- Interaction
- Reciprocal action or influence.
- Just-in-time
- Just-in-time, or JIT, is an inventory management method in which goods are received from suppliers only as they are needed. The main objective of this method is to reduce inventory holding costs and increase inventory turnover.
- Kaizen
- A Japanese business philosophy of continuous improvement of working practices, personal efficiency, etc.
- Kanban
- S an inventory control system used in just-in-time (JIT) manufacturing. It was developed by Taiichi Ohno, an industrial engineer at Toyota, and takes its name from the colored cards that track production and order new shipments of parts or materials as they run out.
- Layout
- The way in which the parts of something are arranged or laid out.
- Lean Manufacturing
- The term Lean manufacturing refers to the application of Lean practices, principles, and tools to the development and manufacture of physical products. Many manufacturers are using Lean manufacturing principles to eliminate waste, optimize processes, cut costs, boost innovation, and reduce time to market in a fast-paced, volatile, ever-changing global marketplace.
- logistics
- The detailed coordination of a complex operation involving many people, facilities, or supplies.
- Methodologies
- The analysis of the principles of methods, rules, and postulates employed by a discipline.
- Operation
- The actions and decisions made by participants and members of a business that affect the production, distribution, service, management, etc. needed for a company to function that requires the use of resources and assets.
- Optimization
- The action of making the best or most effective use of a situation or resource.

- Organisation
- Body of people with a particular purpose, especially a business, society, association, etc.
- Process
- A series of actions or steps taken in order to achieve a particular end.
- Production
- The action of making or manufacturing from components or raw materials, or the process of being so manufactured.
- Quality
- The standard of something as measured against other things of a similar kind; the degree of excellence of something.
